Film Description:
Room For Us is a poignant short documentary
created by Semester Cinema and directed by filmmakers Jasper Craven and Patrick
Kennedy. The film captures the human side of Nantucket’s housing crisis through
the voices of year-round residents—teachers, tradespeople, entrepreneurs, and
retirees—offering a compelling portrait of a community under pressure. Set against
one of the most expensive real estate markets in the country, Room For
Us reveals what’s at stake when essential workers can no longer afford to
live where they serve. Both a tribute and a call to action, the film asks: how
do we make room—for all of us? (90 minutes runtime, followed by filmmaker talkback)
