About the panel:
Laura Galante
served as the U.S. Intelligence Community's Cyber Executive and the Director of
the U.S. Cyber Threat Intelligence Integration Center from 2022 to 2025. In
this role, she coordinated the Intelligence Community’s (IC) response to
national cyber incidents and represented the IC on National Security Council
policy committees and in more than 100 meetings in the White House Situation
Room. Under her leadership, the Intelligence Community fostered new
partnerships across the health, water, and energy sectors. She directed the
IC’s first enterprise-wide acquisition of commercial cyber intelligence and
represented the US government in bilateral and multilateral engagements with
allies.
Galante has built organizations, business lines,
products, and policies to defend critical infrastructure for cybersecurity
companies, the US Intelligence Community, and allied governments. She currently
is a Principal at WestExec Advisors, where she works with boards and the
C-suite on digital resilience.
Between 2017 and 2021, Laura’s consultancy assisted
Ukrainian government agencies with developing their cyber intelligence
operations. She directed an international task force monitoring digital threats
and served as an expert witness in groundbreaking cyber warfare litigation.
Earlier, she led cybersecurity firm Mandiant’s Global Intelligence business
unit, widely recognized for pioneering discovery and attribution of
nation-state and criminal operations.
Galante serves on multiple national security and
corporate cybersecurity boards. She holds a B.A. from the University of
Virginia and a J.D. from Catholic University of America. She runs a
family farm in rural Virginia.
Tal Feldman
is a JD candidate at Yale Law School focused on artificial intelligence and
national security. His work spans both AI research and policy analysis.
Before law school, he worked as an AI engineer across
multiple U.S. federal agencies. I led teams building AI tools for bureaucratic
processes at the Department of State, developed machine learning models at the
Federal Reserve, and built quantitative tools at the Department of Defense.
Feldman spent a year in China as a Schwarzman Scholar,
where he earned a Master of Global Affairs from Tsinghua University and focused
on AI and industrial policy. He received his bachelor's degree in mathematics
and economics from Wake Forest University, graduating summa cum laude as a
Stamps Scholar and Phi Beta Kappa. At Yale, he is an editor at the Yale
Law Journal and co-president of the Jewish Law Students Association.
Feldman's writing has appeared in Foreign
Affairs, The Washington Post, Foreign Policy, MIT
Technology Review, Lawfare, and other outlets.
Michael Schulder
is a network news veteran and the creator and host of Wavemaker Conversations: Where Curiosity
Meets Hope. His guests include
historians and historic figures, athletes and coaches, political analysts and
performing artists, leaders in journalism, conflict resolution, mental health,
and more. His journalism career includes five years as a Writer for Peter
Jennings at ABC World News Tonight and seventeen years as a
Senior Executive Producer and prime time on-air essayist at CNN. This is his
fourth summer producing and hosting Wavemaker Conversations Live at the
